nachtsam

The ‘nachtsam’ campaign by the Baden-Württemberg State Coordination Office for Safety in Nightlife (LKS) was launched to make nightlife safer and take preventive action against discrimination, sexual harassment and assaults against women in nightlife. Through training programmes and raising public awareness of sexual violence in nightlife, the aim is to promote respectful and mindful coexistence.

Employees of nightclubs and bars, for example, receive specialised training. Universities, municipal equal opportunities officers and counselling centres such as the ‘Violence against Women’ helpline are also involved. The trained individuals serve as the first point of contact for women affected by violence, harassment or assault. If necessary, they refer them to other relevant counselling centres.

The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is a cooperation partner in the campaign.
